I took an engine from a 1995 Tracker to put into a 1994 Sidekick. Both engines ran before the swap. The Sidekick engine had a cracked head and will be rebuilt, but the vehicle was needed in the meantime.
Here is the issue. I have not been able to get it to run. I have a video of what it is doing. Here is the link.
I put everything in. It didn't want to start at first. It was trying to fire, but just wouldn't go. I was about to give up and go to bed when it started. I backed out of the garage, made it 200ft down the road. It died. I pushed it back to the house. It started up again and into the garage it went. I came out the next day to try and it wouldn't do anything but crank.
I reset all timing from scratch. I have done a fuel pressure test. It appears to lose spark after about 3 seconds of idle. Notice in the video if I keep the key held to start it will go through the cycle over and over.
I have looked at all wiring connections and they "appear" to be good. I did find a missed ground after the first failure. There were two terminals with two wires each that was supposed to be connected to the back of the intake manifold. I hooked these back up.
Is it possible that I fried the ignitor?
It is almost like something is telling the ECU to cut spark, or the ECU is not being told to continue the spark.
Thank you in advance for any help.

After searching for almost two weeks it was something simple.
The original problem must have been those ground wires. After that, it turned out to be the air hose that runs from the "engine" to the air cleaner. I had left it off for ease of access. It didn't make air move across the MAF. This caused the MAF to tell the ECU to cut fuel. When it cuts fuel, it also cuts spark.
I put that hose back on, it ran great!!
