Default help with sidekick, runs until warms up...

hey all,

I need some advice for my 1995 suzuki sidekick jx...

it will run ok for a while, then once it warms up it stops running... bogs down, idles real low, stalls, then eventually won't start at all... non responsive gas pedal... light gas pedal pressure helps a little but not much...

what should i do? i was told ignition coil but i want to be sure and don't have an ohmeter. again, it's only when it's hot.... vehicle has a new/used engine... reltively new plugs and wires... new fuel pump/filter...
check engine light has been on forever..

heeeelp

resistance in the ignition coil primary is 1.6 ohms... if i'm right that means i need a new one correct?

im not quite sure, i just got a new multimeter and was playing around and thats one of the things i testes and i dont remember exactly but i think i got somewhere around 1.3-1.5 ohms on the primary. plus i dont think the coil should act any diffrently when the engines cold rather than hot. im still think its an 02 sensor.
i dont know how to check the o2 with a multimeter but if your car were obd2 (96 +) you could just read the info of a scantool

ok , first , tell us, what motor your have,?? we now know only the body.
16v , 8valve , what?

when the motor stopped, the first thing to check is SPARK.
did you lose spark. Use a new spark plug to test spark , any heat range.

NO? spark is good ?. then:
then try WOT, wide open throttle to see if it is flooding. (WOT + cranking = no injections of fuel called unflood mode)

look at the plugs, are they wet with fuel? soaked.

if the plugs are dry , try test fuel. (instant spray in to Evap nipple (what motor?)

if motor is flooding, (smell it , see black smoke at tail pipe?) then
unplug injector harnness (all for come to a single point and a conn.)
unplug this and if motor wants to run , even a little , you have leaking injectors.

key points
Loss of spark
no fuel (dry plugs , test fuel starts car every time when dead)
Flooding. (wet plugs, stinks of raw gas out tail pipe )

once you find out this , trouble shooting can proceed, guessing will cost big $$$

coil spec.
primary (fsm95) 1.08 to 1.32 ohms (not K)
secondary, 22.1 to 29.9K ohms.

just because car stops running, does not mean the coil is dead.

there are 100s of reasons for it to do so.

#1 is tuneup. cap, rotor, wires, plugs, all filters.
#2 flooding.
#3 loss of fuel pressure. or opposite too much.

lets fix that CEL.

why would you ignore CEL , when the motor runs bad,

ECU wants to say something but you dont want to know?
nah, you just need the procedure. , here it is.

Check Engine Lamp stuck ON?

first see if your FEDeral car has Mileage nag set.
go here and slide the switch 1 time, over.

http://www.kick-fix.com/CEL/MPI-cancel-switch.gif

2 locations , yours will be upper one.

calif cars dont have this switch. ( the smog sticker under hood, tells this data)

cheers.

PS>

once the NAG is turned off , you will net get only CEL DTC errors, we place a paper clip jumper and out flashes the error codes.
called diagnostic trouble codes.
