Default Tracker Windshield Replacement

Does anybody knows of a good How To on the replacement of a 94 Tracker Windshield?

Mine is cracked and want to replace it. I have seen some videos in You Tube on how to replace windshields, seem pretty simple, just want to know if there is any special tricks on this model.

Thanks all.

Have you thought about claiming it on your insurance, depending on your
deductable, this is way cheaper.

so how much is it going to cost to do it your self?
And then you got to think how long is it going to take?
Do you have the tools on hand....
Is it going to leak wind or worse water..
I think this is a job for the pros..

thanks for price.

its over $300 here.

is that quote from a major chain installer? if yes, who? (please)

harbor freight sell the tool.
you need the special caulk to do it. its not easy.

then buying the glass , at wholesale is diff.

$145 , wow , what a deal.

Is a shop close where I work at in Tulsa OK. I think is a chain but do not quote me on that one. I told them that I am going to pull the windshield and bring it over for them to install it.

Also, they have a 1 year Warranty nation wide in case of a leak or cracking.

I asked them to replace the one on my 03 Impala, is about the same price with the same warranty.

The thing with the Tracker is, that I want to Herculiner the outside body too. I saw that on a Jeep and a Ford Truck, it makes it scratch proof and easy to maintain. Also, I want to clean really good the dashboard and apply a dashboard paint that my friend that does upholstery recommended to me. He said that is like a re-dress paint for plastics. So is easier to re-dress the dashboard if the windshield is off.

Plus is cracked, so I want a new one

$187.50 around here is the cheapest installed.

Wrecking yards want $135 just for the glass.

I just put one in my '91.Speedt wanted 260+ so I bought a windsheild frin them fo 130 and put it in myself, easy,if your patient.
I used a utility knife to cut out the old one, carefully run the knife arround the windshield, from the inside till you cut through the old glue.
It was easier for me 'cause I had the fenders off,along with the wipers and that plastic cowl.Saving the rubber trim is important because it costs more than the glass.Any windshield store will sell the propper glue,it's 15$ a tube and I used a bit less than one tube to put mine in {it doesn't leak}

$125-$175/installed where I'm at. Depends where you go. You might also want the mobile install method. For roughly $150.00, a mobile van will come to me.

Junkyard windshield and install $148. They do it one day a week by appointment.
