hey guys I posted about my blinkers a long time ago and never got around to getting it fixed. Last time I was told usally its a short because of a hackjob on the trailer lights..... I took that all apart today and looks good.
Heres the symptoms
no blinkers left or right
Blows fuses when key is on not when i flip the lever
Hazords work so bulbs are good
has after market hitch checked wires they look good actually the person did a good job.
so whats next?
Thanks in advance car stats are in my tag
Sure, begin with the obvious - look for damaged components / wiring, then start taking the column apart to test the individual pieces for shorting using a multifunction tester (if you don't have one you can get them at your local electronics shop for cheap).
ok so what voltages need to be comming from where? There are a few wires on the back side if the blinker switch. So what should i do next I'm Totally lost on this one.

Hi, I had those same syntoms with my tracker. I had to take the column apart. There is a mechanism made of white plastic which contains a bunch of coils and bearings which activate the different controls. One of mine was burned out and was shorting with a cable. It just took a little tape and the time to put it all back together. Good luck.
Connect a VOM across the blown fuse teminals (12-20vdc scale), if you have a short will show bat voltage, disconnect circuit until VOM reads 0vdc. This will isolate the section/component causing the problem. Easier than trying to do a visual search.

so after inspecting all the blinker wires for a short and found that it was all looking good. I dicided to put a new fuse in to see if i could hear where its shorting at. now they work just fine drove to and from work today no problems.....
