Default stubborn camshaft oil seal...

Still working on my 1991 Chev Tracker 1.6 litre engine after a short break...camshaft oil seal leaking. Pulled cam. sprocket after removing valve cover...but unable to pry oil seal out with small screwdriver. won't budge!
Anyone know of a better method of removing oil seal from camshaft, without damaging the camshaft? thanks...

Poke a hole in the metal rim of the seal with an awl or the like. Then thread a sheet metal screw into the hole & grab the screw with pliers... pull... it should pop out pretty easily. Don't drill it as you don't want metal shavings in there. Don't pry at it with a screwdriver ect. as you risk damaging it's seat & or the cam, which can cause a leak. I have seen where it took poking a hole on each side to work it out, though that wasn't on a zuke engine. hth
