Hi Folks,
I'm in the process of sorting things out pertaining to the hardtop. Everything is going fairly smoothly, although it is taking some time. The driver/passenger top was a snap to figure out.
All new seals have been installed where applicable (top to body) and all the weatherstrips have been removed, cleaned and re-adhered with weatherstrip adhesive.
There is one minor problem. On the interior/rear and on both sides (behind the seat-belt towers) there is a metal latch that is bolted to the lower-interior sides of the top. The latch has a hook bent into it, as if it was meant to connect to a hoop that's attached to the body. To me it also looks as if it will pull the sides in to maintain shape to the body, and secure it.
I'm hoping someone would be kind enough to take a couple pictures of theirs so I can have a visual of what I may have to fabricate. Reason being, I just got off the phone with who I purchased it from, and he had no clue what they were, or where they were. He told me that the latches had always just flopped around.
I can't tell you the manufacturer so I can narrow things down, but the rear door wraps around the sides and the roof rack is somewhat incorporated into it ( square bars about 18" long ) There are also vents on the sides/rear top & bottom if that help narrow things down.
I appreciate any help.
