Default instrument cluster ground

Does anyone know where the ground for the instrument cluster goes? I found it on the wiring diagram but it doesent say where it goes. Both my fuel and temp guages both read lower than what they are (Checked the temp with a themometer)

Thanks
Ian

the temp gage has no numbers. ?

g200 is ip cluster ground. via conn. C200

G200, Behind LH I/P above fuse blocks.
c200 . I/P harness, to main harness, behind I/P left of steering column.

I/P= Instrument panel

well It starts out below the "bar" and when at 180 degrees as per the new thermostat the needle is directly at the first line about 1/8th of an inch into the "bar"

The fuel guage when the tank is at full reads 3/4 of a tank and at 1/2 tank reads 1/4 tank

Thanks for the location

your VELCOME.
do you need the ohms on the tank sender, full?
here it its. below

firs fix tank.

IMHO, motor coolant gauage is ok, but tank no . (later)
so you assume both are bad,
dont assume that.

do assume tank sender ,or ?, is bad, (i bet its not guage !)
and fix that and let coolant just be what it is, not an insturment. or worry it later.
gas level is important to not stalling or overheating fuel pump.

testing the fuel Gauge

all is here.

tank sender must be 1 to 5ohms full tank.

if not sender in tank is bad,or that pesky (100s here) ground behind left rear tail light is corroded, again.

one could pull the conn. behind LRear tail and check yell/red wire.
this wire is tank sender.

if body grounds are bad here.or next to battery (behind it (right) no guage will work.
G104 , ground from hell.
measure battery minus to body volts, must be near zero. .5v is speck head lights on.

Thanks for the Info Ill check it out. Just to let you know I think that some of the 4 doors have that ground behind the left hand cargo panel. Thats where mine is, and i think That someone here with a 4 door didnt have that ground either. Thanks for all the help now If I could stop the oil pan from leaking profusely through the rust holes

i have the full 93 4door harness runs. 16v. FSM.

in living B/W, here at desk.
PATH 1 for Tank sender:
G401 then to s401 then to S402 then to tank sender. (16v page all bodies !!!)

next page (fsm)
G402, behind lh rear wheelhousing
s401 rear lamp harness, near LH rear combination lamp.
S402 same but RH. this is just a "T" off to RH side from left.

this is USA cars.
you quote others in other counties. not all kicks are wired the same in all countries, not even close.

it only takes 2 minutes.
to
pull LH tail light.
now pull G402 (screws to body) (dont forget if other major ground to body is bad G402 could be gold plated and fail the gauge.)

TEST (sanity)
pull G402, (float the wires)
Fuel pump is now dead. no more buzz at key on.
Fuel gauge is now dead.

proof positive.

be careful reading post on wires here,
some members have hot wired, or hacked wiring.

OEM wiring was bad so they grew their own. a very common practice of the desperate. been there....

OEM wiring even fails above the tank, and many posters report new wires to body.
very common.

if your car is no longer, OEM ,thats a Horse of a different color, we all then PUNT.

again. sorry

common-failures

see last photo .
see 2 wires. one is sender, other is pump ground to body. G402 ,

all the grounds in my list must be good or EFI will be really bad.
or the guage.
or the pump which is EFI.

accurate drawings (have em) for all harness routing maps, and harness wiring schematics, drawing for actual routing and the actual schematics that are draw for beauty , point to point, electrical accurate but not physical route.

there are 3 ways to do a schematic and suz did all three, bless their pea picking hearts.
