Paul, I need the same piece. My previous owner caulked the windows (no doubt due to leaks) and last winter it shattered during a -13*F cold spell (caulk did not allow for expansion/contraction). I removed the passenger side to use for a template then constructed a temporary replacement out of 1/8" smoked plexiglass. It leaks a little because the plastic isn't as rigid as the safety glass. I used foam sealing tape just as Bestop did but couldn't find any double sided sticky tape. Just a suggestion, as you well know, Bestop no longer makes replacement parts for these. Good luck

If you need double sided sticky tape. I have used carpet tape with exelent results. and its cheap too. There is also double sided insulation tape that is about 1/16 thick with foam core. but expensive.

I'm going to suggest using Lexan. And to hold it in place, go to any place where they install windshields. Tell them you want a tube of glass adhesive. Or, if you want clear, they may have that too.

I remember the day I tried to cut tempered glass. All was good until I tried to snap the cut-line.....................then..............KA-POW!!!!!! Glass everywhere

Tempered glass can be cut. As long as the procedure in doing so is done correctly. A laser or a Diamond blade & a wet system to keep it cool. The right glass shop will have the tools and have the ability to cut it for you. Expect to pay more than standard glass cutting prices though.

You can always ship your pattern here---> Cutting Tempered Glass Patterns

Default glass

Here is my problem i tried plexiglass it cracked at the corner when i slammed the door i tried lexan it did the same thing i used a step up bit to drill the holes for the 4 screws i taped it and it didn't spyder so i want the original glass because i am tired of throwing good money after bad? right now i have a top from a sidekick on it but it doesn't match the sunroof and i have no way to attach the sunroof on the back part without taking up the entire back part of the cabin. I know somebody has a trashed out bestop out there with good glass in it but finding that one person is like pulling hens teeth. Happy 4th!!

Whenever possible I eliminate the hunt for my need. Time/gas=$. Fabrication= even more.

Yesterday when I went to the glass shop to get some adhesives, and your behalf, I asked the owner; If I make a pattern of the needed glass for my hardtop, can you cut the glass, bore the needed holes and get it tempered? His answer....Yes. So my suggestion is that you very accuratley make your template and take it to a local shop. Tell them what you want. Don't forget to tell them you want tinted glass. Stop wasting time. Pay once for what you want to be right. You tried. Which is likely the same I would have done myself.

Paul, Did you ever have any luck locating any replacement glass or have any made?
