Default Sorry !

Yes, too cruel!

Well after getting the 2nd dizzy, bench testing, and installing, STILL had code 42...
so out comes the single edge razor blade, and w/in 15 mins., found the V+ to CAS was GROUNDED!
(can you say 'frankenkickurai ?)

So, saw some spark, sprayed some start fluid, and ran like a top!
Now got a code 44, so I wil go after that later today. Probably because it has not run in a year or so...

Really can't thank you enough for all of your info as that enabled me to determine the REAL problem.

Could have fixed this a month ago! Should have followed my instincts when your CAS test @ plug 'A'
had no reading, and the CAS was testing good standalone w/led.

great , glad your baby is screaming again....hahahah

you need to calibrate the TPS

TPS testing

you need to retract the DASHPOT device , to do this, unbolt it or vacuum retract it.

on 8v. motor.

this will cause idle to no ever happen (i mean idle controls)

Well, not so much again, but for the first time...
...and I can hardly call it screaming!

Adjusted TPS; no more code 44, but it still won't run / idle on its own. Plugs wet when it does run w/feathered throttle. Will bog/die. Won't start / restart w/o start fluid.
So, can't set/adjust timing.
Pulled cover off to view injector; but not sure what would look good/bad.
Is it supposed to spray 3 secs @ key on?

Some carbon @ bottom of throat as well.

Not sure which way to go next; IAC/ISC air control valve?
IAC thermo? Do I need to have coolant in it for it to idle ?

remember this motor had been sitting...

ISC moves/clicks when voltage applied.

Pin on TB injector is not stuck...but lots of fuel in the cup that holds it; maybe it's dribbling? Can see a good bit of gas past the butterfly on the inside surface of the intake manifold. below the TB injector.

I also hear EGR moving.

its flooding.

1; no hyper fuel pressure
2: no leaking injector TBI oil 0 rings.
2a: the 3 seconds is for fuel pump, then shortly, a very fast priming pump.
if you see fuel flowing key on , injector is bad, or O-rings cracked or shrunk from age.

3: ECT reading 10,000 ohms all the time. or some value that is not open circuit (as that would trip DTC for this. ) 10k is like Klondyke viles. North pool and rich as a piggy.

if egr is closed, its ok for now.

forgive me if i ask you to check something already tested. just ignore it.

you can appy 12vdc to the ISC and toggle it. good test.
even look at it. I have a video of it being tested.

Index of /sensors/tests/videos
pick one , wmv loads faster

play any tune you want , hahahah

ok just be clean, and snappy. on the ISC.

next:
on this motor , it is manditory that the DASH pot be open (pushing throttle open)
as you start the motor, (this air is critical or motor will flood , instantly)

there are the floowing sources of air.
IAC base of TB (open below 150f)
ISC electric,
DASHPOT for 3 to 30 seconds, (3 sec, in summer is typical)
and the throttel stop. (must never be moved ,have spec if some one did.
and last the idle bleed screw.

cheers.

PS, flooding can be too much fuel or too little air at start.
