help 96 sport od lite on wnt shift into 4th

i have a 96 sidekick sport wont shift into 4th geat overdrive lite on and flashes

96 has 4sp od tranny

the od lamp wires to the Tcm (TRANNY PUTER IN DASH)

the od lamp flashes to warn that Tranny puter as discovered serious error.

so place the jumper and pull the codes.

also any quality scan too can pull out , engine codes and tranny codes via
the OBD2 port. above right knee.

the above is for 95 with 4sp.
but does work with 96 too.. FSM age 7a-10a-13

first off codes are erased by pulling the dome/tail fuse.

to get the flash codes, you need to place a jumper in DLC#2
jumper 1 to 4 ,6in conn) black

location.
right headlight rear sheel to washer tank.
see 2 DLCs one is #1 other is #2

the #2 conn, is black with 6 pins.

my MT 96 , is missing DLC2.

the scan tool will see the tranny puter codes as P07xx is common. and 17xx
and 1875.

the TCM informes the ECU of the fail and the ECU stores it and sets the CEL.

so says the book.

the manaul for the tranny shows (linked above) is for pre 96 and has a diff. DLC .
it works the same way ,just has a diff harness in 96.

yours is next to RH HL. rear shell.
