I would like to go by your recommendation of the KYB shocks. (you have never steered me wrong so far...no pun intended!) I see their GR-2 shock which is supposed to assist in older cars, restoring original handling, etc. These run anywhere between $38-50, depending on the site. I figured I would try to get them from the States, even with shipping could very well be cheaper (everything here is at least double). Do you think there is a need for the gas shock? LIke I said, I really don't do anything off-road...maybe driving through fields or something, but nothing very energetic. Thanks for the load of info. With all that, I should be able to find something!

Been on the rockauto.com site, and no KYB shocks there. Just seem to be Monroe/ACDelco, etc. Will keep searching!!

Got 'em. At kybshocksonline.com $36.47 each, on sale. I had them ship to my brother in New York...shipping there only $13.15, rather than shipping here by UPS (ugh...) for $150.00, plus getting shipment stuck in customs here, having to pay duty, etc., etc. NEVER ship to anyone in Europe by UPS or FEDEX. Stuff always gets stuck in customs, and all sorts of duty, tax, and even duty on freight charges are billed to you. Takes weeks, they can never find your address, etc. Miserable!! Ship by good old USPS, right to your door, no customs, no sh*t, much faster service. Anyway, thanks (as always) for good, sound advice, and taking the time to respond. Much appreciated!!

I am lost in catalogues, questions and part numbers. Would appreciate the link to online purchase of KYB shock for wee 1991 Tracker (no ET no TA no BS), if possible. Sorry and thanks!
for fronts you will get 2 different numbers cause one is left the other right for rears is same number for both the reason fronts come in left and right is most of them have a bracket to hold the brake line so if u line one next to the other bracket face opposite directions

and yes Koni's are great shocks but expensive, for normal driving and the occasional off the road trip KYB are the best bang for the buck i will siggest the GR-2 over the KYB gas-a-just,GR-2 are firmer and provides better ride quality

check this seller on ebay i bought from him before best price($164+$29 shipping whole set) fast shipping very reputable click here in case u can see the link his ebay id is jdmwerks13

Your ebay deal of $164 plus shipping is a great deal. The site that I bought the GR-2 shocks from has fronts for $72, rears for $37, so your ebay thing was well worth it. Will know for next time (or for when I do the struts. right now only enough $$ for the rears...) Thanks for the info!
