Can I use the fuel pump from '96 16v mpi? A wire broke on the stock pump,I fixed the wire,the pump runs,but engine will not start.
No way I can afford a new fuel pump,

Thanks Jerry,I was going to use tank and all,keep that for future use.I took the computer,along with all the relays,out of T3 and T2 fired right up.So I still dont know what the problem was[computer or relay ?]

The pump runs and the engine will start if you pour gas in the intake,the cel is on,key on not started,goes out when the engine starts,that makes me think it's a relay,is there a relay for the throttle body?I have one of those haynes books but I can't make hide nor hair of the schematic.
My udeducated theory is that there's fuel getting to the throttle body but is not being squirted into the engine.I've got some relays kicking arround but can't find em.
Got any suggestions?
Thanks.

welcome.
lets do it.
you cant find something clicking.?
look at the 2 relays below ecu, Main, and fuel pump (greensocket)
then look at the 2 solenoids valves on front of motor. vac. tubes and 2 wires?
they must not sit there and click, no, that is wrong.
this is a sign of bad power to ECU , or ecu CAPS bad (really the same)
this is the ECU rebooting over and over. for ever.
Clicking?Yess! when I turn the key there is a loud klick from the engine bay,I can't pinpoint the local by myself but it is almost too loud to be a click,if y'know what I mean.
There is just the one klick,turn key,the klick,fuel pump runs for its three seconds and the second,smaller klick of the fuel pump solenoid.It doesn't keep klicking,unless I'm not waiting long enough.
So my computer is toast?Guess I'll have to buy another tracker,I can likely get another tracker for the price of a junkyard computer{ecu?}
Thanks for the help,seriously.
