Default '92 fuel pump

'92 Canadian tin top,8v,5 speed,blue.

Can I use the fuel pump from '96 16v mpi? A wire broke on the stock pump,I fixed the wire, the pump runs, but engine will not start.
No way I can afford a new fuel pump,

the pump its self my go , but the rack is deeper in the deeper tank.
so whole thing wont fit.

$47 for pump too much. why? and dont ask dealer for pump.
i think it comes with a 100 year libility insurance policy. so all money goes to lawyers.

that should work.

whats your symptoms.

no start ,
?

got 3 seconds closer or Fuel pump relay every key on?
yes, then ECU is ok (pump wise) and so is MAIN and FP relay.

next would be spark. no spark , you will never get fuel (programming in rom)

The pump runs and the engine will start if you pour gas in the intake, the cel is on,key on not started, goes out when the engine starts, that makes me think it's a relay,is there a relay for the throttle body?I have one of those haynes books but I can't make hide nor hair of the schematic.
My udeducated theory is that there's fuel getting to the throttle body but is not being squirted into the engine.I've got some relays kicking arround but can't find em.
Got any suggestions?
Thanks.

welcome.
lets do it.
you cant find something clicking.?
look at the 2 relays below ecu, Main, and fuel pump (greensocket)

then look at the 2 solenoids valves on front of motor. vac. tubes and 2 wires?
they must not sit there and click, no, that is wrong.
this is a sign of bad power to ECU , or ecu CAPS bad (really the same)
this is the ECU rebooting over and over. for ever.

and you will never get injection that way.

yoiur just 2 clicks from the real schematic.
here.

BTW you are on track, you just need road maps.
we all do.

cheers

Clicking?Yess! when I turn the key there is a loud klick from the engine bay,I can't pinpoint the local by myself but it is almost too loud to be a click,if y'know what I mean.
There is just the one klick, turn key,the klick, fuel pump runs for its three seconds and the second, smaller klick of the fuel pump solenoid. It doesn't keep klicking, unless I'm not waiting long enough.
So my computer is toast?Guess I'll have to buy another tracker,I can likely get another tracker for the price of a junkyard computer{ecu?}
Thanks for the help,seriously.

Default 92 is old . 92s have bad CAPS.

nah.

some of these, cars.
go click click click forever , key on. all relays and solenoids. clicking. glad not you.

to find that engine bay clack is easy.
discon. ISC
key , on
nope. , yup ?

next.

1 at a time pull all solenoids. ISC, VSV1 VSV2, VSV 3.

3 VSV valves , top right front motor.

there is not a SUZ ECU 92 in the world that is not subject to this.
if its black , get it out NOW.
