oh4mud is on a distinguished road
Smile losing water forced out of over flow

i have a 1991 1600 16valve suzuki escudo water is forcing its way out the over flow also the idler wasn't getting any water to it but is now i have done
head newgasket
new radiator
new thermostat
going to pull out waterpump is there anything else i should be looking at?
any help would be great thanks

Sounds like an airlock. Remove the radiator cap and run it until you see the thermostat open, the coolant level will probably drop also. That is usually enough to fix it.

Pin-hole leak in head, Seen it happen in motorcycles. Just another possibility......

ok but a silly question how can you tell if thermostat open ?

had a full test done on head pressure test etc came up all good

why didn't you change your water pump when you did the head gasket!!!!.... Also did you get the head checked by a professional so see if it wan't damaged....

yes it was checked buy a professional head specialist and the guy i brought it of said it just had a new head put on it and the water pump look like new i will take pump of today

You'll see when the thermostat opens because the coolant will start rushing round the top of the radiator.

Make sure your rad cap is good. They do wear out.

How to test thermostat.

Take out old thermo and place in very hot (near or at boiling) water. Look for movment such as opening and closing of center metal diafram.If parts are opening in hot water and closeing in cool or warm water then thermostat is good. If no or very litle movment, then tremo is nfg and must be replaced. This test should always be done on all new thermos before you install. In past I have bought a new thermo and it was found bad right out of the box.
