Default Soft-Top to Hard-Top

hey there....I recently bought a 96 sidekick, 1.6L, 4x4, 2 door....never had a suzuki before. There is a Soft-Top on it but I just bought a 2nd hand hard-Top off a 94 Sunrunner to install.....QUESTION: when I take the soft-top off, do I need to remove all the "plastic lining" as well,...AND will there be pre-drilled holes so I can mount some clips (I got the clips from the body of the sunrunner but not sure if they will work on the sidekick?) directly on the jeep itself that will mate with the clips on the hord-top?...just looking for as much info on this as I can get before I start disassembling too much.

Thanks from Nova Scotia, Canada
Kirk

More than likely there will be some modifications you'll have to do. Likely the bracketry locations will have to be changed, and/or modified. And, I'm going to guess that the plastic rails will have to be removed so the seal can make contact with the body. All this sounds like a major ordeal. Best thing to do is remove the softtop & supports and get a friend to give you a hand. Set the top on and take a good look. A tape measure will come in handy to map out what will need to be done.

I just found a hardtop in Canada. I live in Washington. I'm making the drive Wednesday to pick it up. Basically, I'm in the same scenario as you Kirk. I'll just get a 12 pack of beer and spend the weekend modding & fabricating. Kids, you gotta love'em
