Default L-front half axle on 4x4 tracker

I recently dropped the front axle assembly on my 1991 Geo tracker in order to remove the oil pan. (a real pain! ) Anyway, I was wondering if any one knows why and if it's necessary to matchmark the left halfshaft with the diff. housing for reinstallation, since my marks were acciddently erased. thanks!

it was balanced in the factory. (fsm has a photo of man doing it and these words)
the painting (not chock) for match mark is to keep the factory balance.

at 45mph max in 4wd,not much need for big time perfect balance.

and if parts were changed before, it is a waste of time.

when it left the factory is was perfect.

my friends brand new Ford Explorer shakes alike a dog at 55.
they replaced every part on car 2 times.
wheels ,rims, rotors. tranny, propshafts.

they had to take it back on Lemon law.

seems ford dont balance the drive train.
proof positive.

he bought a Dodge RAM. sweat running truck.
