good question !!!

door jam shows pressure for YOUR cars tires at deliver to your country.
so does glove box manual.

some markets get diff. tires. and have diff pressure stickers.

if your tires have been changes, the correct pressure is found , no joke, that the company that made your tires.
go there look it up and get the pressures for the weight of your vehicle.
they ALL have a chart.

and yes over pressure makes them skid on ice , snow or water.
they crown.
so does under pressure, they cup.

the degree varies by ever tire ever made.

read tire markings.
write it down.
go to www.yourtire company and just look it up.

there is no better answer.

go to tire store and he has the same books and the same tables and he will look it up for you , if your prefer that.

hope that helps.

I usually follows what the manuafacturer stated on the sticker at the side of the driver's door when you open it. For my 4 Dr Sidekick is 23psi

Uh-Oh, here we go again...

Didn't we go thru this about a week ago? It's still my contention that the sticker info (23 psi) has to be an error, or at the very least so outdated as to be useless. I tried it on my 205-75-15's (recommended stock tire size) and there's no way that is runnable. I can't imagine how much fuel I'd be wasting trying to keep my 4dr rolling.

205-75-15 at 35 psi..., seems to be very happy.

Jerry's right, info is available from other sources.

Some dont under stand.
the sticker was put the 20 years ago, your tires are 20 years newer.
forget the sticker. is best practice,

i repeat.
1: ask the man who sold you the tires.
2: go to OEM tire maker web site. your tire data IS there and has a chart for all loads on said tire.

max PSI on stock tire in USA is 36. typical , of the era.

some other countries have vastly diff tires.

in the future this will get far far worse. ever heard of low rolling resistance tire.

do you have any idea at all how many differnent tires there are , just in ONE SIZE.

think of them like shoes.

1 size , million types for all kinds of usage

on road ,off, both , ice only, mud, only, sand only, track. gee,, its 21st century.
nothings easy.

when i was a kid i had cotton corded tires on my 61 chev. and it wore out or blew to hell in 10,000 miles or less.

the only thing consistant is Change.

that is the facts. (im no tire expert but i do know what i dont know and I do know it is a very complext topic and subject to change at the price of oil)
IMHO, YMMV

Thanks for the tip and I will try 35psi and save some gas since my donuts states max 44psi

My spare Bridgestone tires says Max 35psi so I think I will just leave it at 28psi because going for the max is abit risky right
