Default Modifying 95 soft top to fit 91 Tracker

I got a good deal on a 95 soft top and ended up buying it before I knew that the specs changed in 94. Fortunately, I got some of the hardware with the top. I changed the front bow (original had clips, new one has snaps), and most of the top works ok. I'm having a bit of trouble with the (removable) side windows, as they have a plastic lip around them that really doesn't fit well into the pop out brackets. Right now, they are staying in place with the fabric snaps. I also couldn't help but notice that the tailgate on the 91 was must shorter than the 95 model, as the rear window is too short. Also, the rear side pieces that would attach the top to the car at each side of the rear window doesn't really fit. I'm not too particular about this (my old top was just about glued together, black-out fabric glued on side windows, black fabric replacing rear window, etc.) but I was wondering if anyone has been able to modify the 95 to fit the earlier model, and if so, any tricks on doing this. I see that the rear window attaches to the car in a different way (not using the metal rod??), and since it is too short, I will probably sew a hem on the bottom of the new window to make it longer, and then attach that hem using my existing metal rod. It's really the side windows and two rear brackets that I'm curious about. Thanks for any suggestions!

I had a problem with my 97 tracker ragtop. My daughter took the top off and I spent a month tryng to get it to fit properly. I thought that it shrank or somthing stupid, espiasally the rear and side windows.

What I finally did was assemble the top on the ground making sure all the windows were zipped into place .Then I started to assembe the top on the tracker going from the rear to the front slowly streching it as I went along making good use of the ragtop frame. It finally did end up fitting, but it took a while to figure it out.

Hope you can use some of this info

Oh ,I'm pretty sure mine uses the steel rod at the back under the window. that was the very first part I atched and got me started in the right direction. My top is streched really, really tight. I honistly thought that I was going to tear it putting it back on.
