96 Geo Tracker

96 Geo Tracker USA 1.6 2wd......I have no brake lights...I've checked the obvious fuses etc. Any and all help greatly appreciated...Thanks

brake light switch , on brake pedal.

road map.

see it.

top of switch is hot , even Key in pocket. (BL must always work for safetY)

put meter to switch top. HOt.
step on brake, output of switch must be 12v. (if it blows the fuse the brake feed is grounded out)

make sure no trailer wiring is butched into left rear tail light , (remove 2 screws remove tail light, see trailer plug)

JTGH is correct. This part is cheap if you don't have cruise control. The switch for BL with CC is $$$$$.

cruise , ouch.
the switch on mine has a jam nut and can loosen. make sure it is not falling out.
or is out of adjustment.

open wires, bad switch, adjusted wrong, or shorted load (lamps)
there are 3 pn for switch
2 or AT (and conv. /tin top
1 for for MT.

rockauto has the parts , if needed for $25 , just did one.
