Default Please tell how much sloppy in rear axle

Well I am worry about my geo now

it have 94,000 miles.

It have 1" play on driveshaft and if you try moving shaft up and down it almost 1/4"

How to replace bushing or bearing in transfer case. Are they easy to do that? Do they wear out fast?

I could get rear axle from junkyard but it have 300,000 miles.

k

where you put your hand and try turn it have about 1" play then to transfer case you put hand on driveshaft then up and down there was little plays so that mean bad bushing in transfer case?

Default shafted.?

transfer case >>> out >>> U-joint >prop shaft >> ujoint>>> axle pinion.

where is your hand.?

rotatation play normal. in gears.
you must fiind out if the play is in the U-joints. or in spines.
doing this takes care.

there is no bushing in xfr case that is a large ball bearing #18 and has no play at all.
there are 2 types of play, rotational, and side.

what kind do you have? , is it exactly at the out out coupling of the xfr case?

do you have noise?

see attach photo1 ,
this is the splin shaft part #16 (it has 2 spins, IN and OUT)

tranny power comes in on 16 shaft left, and exit , right on same shaft to splined output yoke.

see next photo2 of yoke and U-joint.

see part #8 , yoke.
that coupling is splinned and fits on the xfr case spline and is a slip fit.
slip fits, is perfect and is not loose.

tell use the full story,
my car is making a sound?
or are you just wiggling and wondering.

tell us.

cheers.

That #2 pic show #8 ujoint to transfer case.

It loose.

you put your hand on driveshaft then try up and down there are plays.

Why I worry about this.

It kind vibrant at Higher speed so I want know if it was not driveshaft like my F150 that have bent driveshaft due overload tow.
