Default Body lift ?? about spacers and mods.

Hi all,
I just bought a body lift off ebay just the spacers. Its supposed to be a 2 inch lift but the spacers themselves are 3" tall. If I only put the spacer in without the oem rubber spacer then it would be close to 2" lift. Whats the best way lol just use the plastic spacer alone??
The other thing was that I have all the bolts removed from the body but the driver side front body mount under head light the bolt broke! So do I have to cut a hole in the frame to get to the other side? And I guess yoll use all new bolts when you install the lift. Not worth extending the old ones. Thanks for the help!

The sidekick has No title so off road only lol...
Here is what the spacers look like that I just bought off ebay:

I'm just finishing up this same lift. I think without the hardware that comes with it you might be hosed. Unless you remove the body bolts and can find longer ones. Contact Rocky Road and see if they can sell you the bolts (that's where I bought my lift)

Oh ok. Is it a 2" or 3" and did u leave the oem rubber pads in with the spacer? How did u install the front 2 under the head lights? Did you have to extend the steering shaft? Sorry for so many ?s lol just trying to figure this all out haha...Thanks.

My lift had the 2" blocks. I used the oem rubber bushings with it. I also put in 1" coil spacers for a total of 3" of lift and the steering column was fine. For the front mounts under the headlights the lift came with longer bolts 5" but 5 1/2" would have been better. I had to use a ratchet tiedown on the body/frame to compress the rubber bushings enough for the bolt to grab a thread on the front mounts. I was worried about jacking the body too high off the frame to get the bushings under the body bolts. It had to lift over 4" to clear the bolts. Just be careful and watch for brake lines, vacuum canister hose, etc. You will have to loosen the fuel filler line.

As far as the instructions that came with the lift, there might as well not have been any because they sucked. You will have to undo the center console also.

I've just been driving it around a bit tonight with 30x9.5 tires on the factory wheels and it rubs a bit on full lock turns. Haven't tried it with any articulation yet but it does give a much better more aggressive stance.

Oh cool thanks for all the info! Yeah Im going to try and get it all done this week. The hardest part I guess is making the new holes in the floor board to get the old bolts out and put the new bolts in.lol...

I would call one of the body lift suppliers and get the hardware. That way you can use the existing body bolts on all but the front two spacers, for that you just need longer bolts.

Ok, yeah I already bought the grade 8 bolts so Ill just do it the hard way lol...
Does it matter if I use the plastic spacers only and not use the oem rubber pad in with the lift?? My spacers are 3" and the oem pad is close to 1". I guess I just wouldn't have as smooth of a ride? I don't want to over a 2.5 body lift to avoid problems...

Try it and see. I'd probably silicone the spacers though so they don't squeek.

What diameter are the spacers from the kit? I'm gathering parts and was going to make spacers for a bodylift myself.
Thanks

roughly 2" diameter, that's a guess without measuring.
