op guide 95 is here , you forgot to say year and body, max weight depends on that.

kickdata | FreeDrive.com | Online Storage and Social Utility

chapter 8-3

1000 lbs (with camping junk) 2dr
1500 lbs 4door with restrictions.

brakes,
the left rear tail light (remove it 2 screws) has hidden trailer plug.
you need to match type of trailer lamps to the vehicle lamps.
this is called an adapter. all stores and trailer supply stores have the list (online too)
for which adapter you need.

the coordination of blinkers, brakes and tails , are diff. ( all cars, all trailers)

some are separate, others are integrated. ( ouch but true)

that trailer can get real heavy real fast.
i'd keep speeds way down for this tiny car. can jack knife easy.

brake controller
yes.
but what kind. there are many.
surge ( free be)
tie in . (hydraulic couplings) $$$
and resistance electric brakes. ( need black box tie in and fits any car) Talk to supplier.

most folks just use what came with trailer. ( and then find what they need to match up)

does that help?

cheers.

surge brakes are stand alone, the couper actually shrinks and presses a small master cylinder in the trailer tongue. this applies the brakes. all by lonesome.

a FREE BE brake system ( you do nothing and it just works , if maintained)

i just rebuilt my boat trailer brakes with fancy galv parts.

thats easy too.
you can get a motorhome diode , this is just huge diode that connects the 2 batteries to gether. and keeps both charged and the trailer load can not drain car battery.

there are other ways to do this. with drop out relays and others.
but they are expensive. All boat stores have this gear. it works as promised.

some boats run 2 batteries, one for motor, other or accessories.and at no time do they ever put motor battery at risk.
the prinicles are the same.

cheers.

ps . tell how many wires are on trailer conn. for lights.
then we can match up the adaptor.

Trailer Wiring Diagram For 4 Way, 5 Way, 6 Way and 7 Way circuits
your trailer.
1 right stop turn
2 left stop turn.
3 Tail (parking lamps, side, lic.etc)
4 Ground.

no brakes.

Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter Demonstration - etrailer.com

see video.

he calls it 3 wire , dont let that fool you .

he doesnt count ground or Tails (parking)

your car:
nums are not pin nums, only items.
1- white , ground (wires to trailer directly) to 4 above.
2-brown, Tail, again, wires directly to the 3 above.
3-yell/black , left blinker ( non integrated car)
4-gree/wht , right blinker (same)
5 Blue , stop (note stop on suzuki is a seperate signal)

3,4,5 must be wired thru an adaptor convertering 3 wire (car) to 2 wire trailer.

the trailer has integrated stops and blinks. ( my bet, and is common)

a battery placed on on the trailer can test this out.
place neg, battery term to trailer ground (look to discover this)
the walk the battery + term on each of the other pins not ground.
you will see which color wires does, what. easily.
safety:
use an 20amp inline fuse to test this or the wires can burn if you hit ground accidentally.

this adaptor is very common.

the adaptors that have 12vdc as input , are superiour as this design off loads
all current from the stop/tail. brake circuits.

i will find a source later.

cheers.

no sure of exact car you have other than year. (above is 8v, 2door)
but the below may be more accurate. for vehicle.
8v,16v and year, doors, my effect color codes.

16v looks like this , i think.

black is ground
red/yell = park tail.
green = 12dc hot all time .stop fused.

green/wht= stop lamps (seperate function , both lamps.)
green/red= left turn
green/yell= right turn.

the above is the trailer connector , at left rear harness point.

the diff. is colors, and the adding of power.
if your suk has 6 wires and match this color , then that is what you have.
