Default VIN Decoder

I found this VIN decoder Suzuki VIN Decoder @ Motoverse.com and ran my VIN through it and found out my little Frankenkick originally had a 3 speed auto tranny. So now I know the 5 speed in it was probably installed when they put the 16V engine in it, meaning it probably only has 95K miles on the tranny, same as the engine. That also means I probably have 4.625 difs, which explains why my speedo (when compared to a GPS unit) reads about 10% slow. This Frankenkick does present some challenges, I am in the process of ordering an OEM clutch cable from Southwest Suzuki. I was not sure which year cable to order, so I emailed my specs to them and Keith said he thinks the only difference is the length, so I should go with the 16V cable, it's longer. For now I don't have any questions, but if anything I typed doesn't look correct, please let me know. Thanks, I've learned alot from this forum, and Jerry's info links are amazing.

Default diff, years diff rules for VIN.

above link if motor cycles ONLY. the 8th digit on some is motor type others its a body code.
only the FSM can help. (or enter the whole number to Carfacts)
here is 89 rules set
no tranny , sorry.

the first pages of all FSM show Vin decode.

and in newer years they have diff. codes for vin.

the online guys love to mix up facts ,

the assume 96 = 89 and no it does not.

if you need other oem decodes let me know.

also, the engine sn has a letter.
like G16Lnnnnnn

the L = year. and follows the 10th digit year rule in VIN.

that, they dont mess with.
