Default Noob looking for some info

OI!

So I am about to buy a 1993 manual sidekick 4x4 JX with 148km for $600 CAD. Just wondering what I should check when I go pickup the car. Like common problems...

Also, Ive read a lot of great reviews about this 4x4... Does it really hold up?

Lastly, I want this truck to plow through anything... Im thinking winch, front metal rammy thing and big tires lol Being from Canada our winters are brutal, this thing needs to kick ass! Any idea where I can get this stuff?

Loose crank timing gear causing damage to crank/keyway, cracks in exhaust manifold, rusted fuel pump ground, clogged egr system to name a few. Do a search, this has been covered many times. Good luck

The mount on the front diff was the only issue withe our '92 tin top,at the fish farm where m'lady works their not to promt about ploughing the road, and she's nt real patient.Story short, snow deep, put 'er in 4x and give 'er.broke the ,in my opinion too small bit on the diff that the bolts go through, chained it down so the yolk doesn't rub.
otherwise had no trouble.

Okay, at 148Km (Kilomiles? Kilometers?) also check to see if the
timing belt has been replaced, if Kmiles, it could be way overdue.
Yes, these Zukes are nice, good power to weight ratio, and reliable.

But like any vehicle, it requires maintenance, no vehicle is
"just gas 'n go"

Read back a couple months worth of postings on this forum and you'll
get the feel for what maintenance is needed (routine and
design defect).

"Plow through anything"?
I recall spending a cold (-20 F) morning digging the snow out
from under TheZuke! Instead of plowing through a snowbank,
it ended up on top of the snowbank and none of the tires
touching the ground.

But I have no intention of getting rid of mine!

crank pulley bolt not at 10 lb/ft torque (at 94 , no less) not wabbliing.
compression above 150psi on 8v and over 170 on 16v,you didnt say motor.

no rust. (hahahahaha)

tranny dont whine in neutral or running.
4x4 actually works.

wiring under dash and in engine bay not hacked by jokers.

axles dont whine running.

motor dont knock.

has maintenance records, is a big , top deal.
