. if the fuse was burnt, your stereo wouldnt work at all. and if it were an illumination fuse, your gauge lights wouldnt work.Certain factory stereos have an illumination wire. So if nothing lights up, that could be your problem. If its just the clock, but everything else lights up- then yes, replace it. not worth the headache. And gives you the chance to enhance your music. Inexpensive easy to get anytime radio? Wal mart. the items there are the same quality as youll find in any specialty(Best-buy & audio express)store. dont let anybody tell you otherwise. hope this helps, let me know.

I OWN a custom shop. And its a reply to someone that needs help. so no need to get all uptight. I deal with vendors and purchases everyday, and yes its the same stuff, only wal mart carries the "cheaper" items- not specialty,(and the wal mart crap is "dual") and theyre open 24-7 anytime someone may want to go to spend little money, and those who really dont care about the high end competition systems. and best buy- betcha didnt know that when theyre out of stock, they buy from others(wal mart, mom n pop shops) any shop that does installs, does that. It has always been pointless, unless youre a national chain, to buy direct from vendor. unless you have a lot of clientele, and can afford to buy in bulk. And anybody who buys a sony, alpine, kenwood, pioneer, etc...no matter where they buy it from, they all come from the same originator, factory, warehouse, & shipment. And if you dont buy from a known & trusted dealer, you may be buying refurbished.
I do agree, Alpine is nice. But only depending on what the customer wants. But Alpine is sinking really quick. Sony-great on amps & subs. Im hittin 130db with two 10's alone- Dclass bridged sony amp. but that sound also depends on the box you use. Great for demos & sales. But, that also depends on if thats what someone wants. Their head units look nice, but the sound processing and EQ sucks. So theyre great, if youre not trying to please the gods. Pioneer is still the way to go on a head unit that is fully functional, pushes clean loud sound without amplifiers, and can be simple or the start to a killer system. A head units a head unit, its what you add to it that makes the difference.
This forum is not a place for people to dis others or compete for whos cooler. Its for suzuki lovers and those who need help in certain areas, and that is what i hope to have done. So, we can help each other or not at all. I am Freeze and I approve of this message.
A-men Freeze! I had no idea that my simple request for information on a burnt out radio bulb would turn into such a pissing contest. As for myself, I don't care where you work, where you buy from, nor what you drive. If you work at one of the mentioned places, good for you! I don't share the same comment about being "retarded" to work there, nor shop there. Very offensive comment to say the least and not one to really merit. As for this website, this forum is for people to seek advice/ help, such myself asking for help for my stock radio. I could go right now and put a new one into the car, which I have one already (yes, it's a sony) but if I can cheaply repair the existing one, than why replace the whole damn thing? If anyone knows if this is a bulb that can be replaced, let me know. If you don't know, then don't reply! It's that simple!
i can piss over wal-mart.......lol your light cannot b replaced its a led soldered to the board, if it works but cant c the time or station buy a watch and tune by ear.
and i use pioneer also cept my sub is cv stroker

sorry about that, but it was uncalled for. Its true, it really doesnt matter where it came from. As long as YOU got one. Trying to save you a few bucks while you get what you want. As far as a bulb, no. Theyre usually soldered on or part of the lcd. And your sony should sound great. Have fun.
