Default 2000 Chevt tracker not fireing on cly 1 and 3

I've have a problem that I can't figure out, even talking to the local Chevy dealer's repair shop didn't help. Here goes. I have a 2000 Chevy tracker with a 1.6 EFI. I just finished rebuilding the lower in and now I have a new problem. When it ideals it runs find, but when I try to drive it sluggish and lacks power then it spuders and dies.
I have replaced the two coil packs, two fuel injectors but when the engine is at ideal, I can pull the connections to the fuel injectors on 2 or 4 and the motor dies, But I pull 1 or 3 or both, nothing happens. I can't figure out whats going on. Also noticed the when I try to drive it the caytlatic (SP) glows red hot. I have the timing set right, but I have run out of ideas.

2 things come to mind- sluggish engine sound like a vacuum problem. The catalytic turning red hot sounds like a plugged cat- I am no specialist, but I am interested myself in this issue. It almost sounds like it's plugged (catalytic).

bad advice. (so sorrry)
you are running way rich.

the cat glows due to that , ITS DOING ITS JOB. and you are killing it.

rebuilding the lower in
please explain that statement.

stop and do a compression test, any time you do heavy motor work that is first and the oil pressure.

dead injectors are
from:
dead cyclinders.
spark dead (coil packs)
no compression on those 2
or spark plugs fouled.
dead injectors,
loss of 12vdc to those 2 , check harness conn, on front edge of motor.
dead injector drivers in ECU.

id be all over compression.

make it breath first.
cheers

and yes, running rich and red cat will result in a melted and clogged cat,
just like fire melts butter.
but its a symptom , fix the misfire.

i bet CEL is glowing when it runs. too.

and yes, dead cylinders will make vacuum low and bounce. but a compression test , proves the pudding.

OOPs, I ment to say I rebuilt the lower end, its a term that my dad used I thought it was common. What I did was have the crank turned, repalced the crank bearing, replaced the rods and pistion rings.
I have gone over the wireings sevral times and everything is connected. I'm wondering if It may be something eletronic.

id never in ever, not do a compression test , after having any head off.
how you know the thing even pumps air.

motor pumps air.
fuel pressure at spec.
spark at all four, , ( so no dizzy , no timing)
this one has wasted spark cops or cops alone. i for get. but it is cops never the less.

once you have an air pump and spark
then we move on to fuel pressure.

then the NOID lamp comes out.
and the ohm meter on all injectors leads and coils inside must read 12 ohms.

make sure each injector fires. us a NOID light on eacy injector wire connector, see it flash the NOID for each injector.

then it will start.
