Default Intermitent stalling

Hi, I have a geo tracker 97 v16 auto.
Latly my tracker has started to stall when stopping at a red light or stop sign. This only happens when on the road. If left at park or netral , it does not stall.

I did a obd2 scan and have come up with no errors.

Any suggestions ?

Forgot to mention. This problem is very eratic, stalled twice yesterday and today did not stall.

The route taken on both days is the same. Only differance is the weather. Yeaterday was nice and warm and stalling. Today wet and raining and NO stalling.

tune up time
cap,rotor,wires, plugs filters.
if that dont do , the clean the ISC.

also the TSP can be bad or missadjusted and cause stalles.

ISC , idle speed control VALVE
TSP, throttle position sensors (switch side bad or not calibrated)

I had the same problem...

JTGH is right, but after all those checks and tune-up,
TheZuke! had a sticky Fuel Pressure Regulator.

But as JTGH says, don't replace parts at random,
(shotgun style), do the tune-up, then follow his
procedures.

stalling
can be lots of things,
lack of air (isc) { idle speed controller stuck or sticking closed, clean it.)
lack of fuel { or opposite as thezuke wisely stays }
lack of spark
flooding.?

My DIE page.

engine-dies-randomly

list is in no order , after all how could i guess.?

the key is to find how which of the above is dropping out.

and is the check engine light on , running. if yes, pull the DTC codes, post them.

cheers.

Hi and thanks for all the help.
The codes so far have been PO300

However today I put in new plugs and air fillter.(all the rest of the parts were out of stock. BUT now I'm getting codes PO300 and code PO455.

What can cause PO455?

I'm having the same issues with a 94 sidekick. Stalls at lights and otherwise runs like a champ. Should I follow the same recommendations you gave the tracker?

post seperate eneal, this is a differnt efi system,

but.

455 is loose fuel cap (pray) medium leak in EVAP system. ( my wife set hers just last night and it was 1 run loose)
clear codes after tigthening cap.

P300 is general misfire ( all 4 cyl)
1.6L 16v, motors,

need , new CAP, new rotor and NEW wires, and new plugs.
at 60k and every 60k. (plugs are spec'd at 30K)

a tune up includes all these parts. and filters.

tune up
tighten cap
clear codes.
drive
watch CEL, if it glows pull codes.

94 hyjacker.
Stalls at lights and otherwise runs like a champ

the 94 cam with 2 motors, which one? 8v or 16v?

best is to post your one post and put in
car, year, displacement and valve count. and history of repair.
any car that stalls, needs tuneup (full not part)
if full tuneup is fresh , under 30k
then clean the ISC.

iSC
IAC-e testing

im still working hard on this page. it needs lots of work.
but all is there. just a journal now.
