Default New Update But still Need some input

With the Help of some members , Im a little closer to diagnosing my trouble. In my last post I told you guys my manifold is Red Hot Glowing, engine missing at hot and cold, Loss of power, etc. I also stated that previous owner had taken CEL ( check engine light) out. OK, UPDATE----- I replaced CEL light, pulled dome fuse for 2 minutes to clear all codes, turned key on, but NO START---CEL flashed 12-----Good News KINDA!!!! Now, I started vehicle CEL light came on and stayed on steady. I then shut engine off, hooked up my jumper wire to diagnose a code, again turnd key on(NO START) and I now got a flash, flash, flash,..PAUSE.... Flash !!!! I take this as code 31. I crossed referenced to Haynes Manual and it says CODE 31 is MAP Sensor. Now, I need you guys to Help. I cant seem to find a cheap one of these things anywhere. Another thing, Do you guys think this could be my problem? Anyone got this part and want to sell it? Can I clean it? Can I check it with an multimeter? I hate to buy it and it not fix a thing--If I had a lot of money I wouldn't be driving a Suzuki Sidekick now would I???? So, If anybody has any clues what to do next ( Rather than jump off a Cliff--Reply PLEASE) Just joking on jumpin off the cliff, I meant Building!!! HAHAHAHA Smile you guys, I would never do anything like that---My Wife would get the insurance money and be HAPPY!!!! Getting back to business--Thanks but shoot me those thoughts I gotta get this Baby running. It just kills me to see my baby in the yard S-I-C-K and Broke down!!!!

Default

31 (never lies , unless you disconnected thing KEY ON)
Quote:
MAP sensor Pressure too high ( illegal low vacuum) (usually grossly in error) 8 valve only.
that is a dead map sensor. vacuum line open, cracked., or sensor unplugged.
filter to MAP plugged.
Throttle body vac. port plugged. ( testing is simple, buying a new one is folly unless you prove it is bad) IMHO

you need to fess up on the parts on your motor ,that are not original OEM.
any parts not suzuki as shipped from factory.
missing parts, too. Exhaust, CaTconveter mods, headers missing EGR port, etc.

any missing parts, ?
any not OEM.

all it takes is voltmeter and a hand vacuum pump to test the MAP sensor.
or at the least a meter and post the voltage at the output pin , idling.

now tell use what pump fuel in on this car.

what is the name, model and flow rate on this pump.( and pressure specs.)
i told you in PM that the FPREG will not allow , high volume , high PSI pumps, at all.
so tell that story first and what parts are missing or swapped for NON OEM parts.

OEM = Orig. equipment manufacture. this means , parts that came on the car new.
or replaced with Suzuki parts. of correct PN.

map testing

you have 2 problems at least.
im sure.

tell full story , get full answers.

the output of the map sensor at idle is 1.2v DC. that is normal.
with a vacuum guage you can full test the sensor.
it takes , 3 tools, 2 really , hand pump with gauge, and any voltmeter.
(and a needle to back probe the conn)

good luck and weclome to live post on this forum ,no more PM's , now all can read your issues and contribute.
