Default how to know if ecu in 94 tracker is bad?

Well I get sick of see engine light all times. it alway on for no reason.

try get code it just stay on light never glow or flash.

been get 23 mpg in city and 25 mpg in highway.

but it used to get 20 mpg how hard you try after new brake rotor and pad then mpg improve. When I unplug oxygen sensor it got better mpg.

I been watch. Notice when it sit for few hours then you try start. it didn't start like 1 spin. it get like 4 spins to start. New spark plugs about 500 miles ago.

it used to start fast after hot water power washer on engine so now it seem it don't start fast. I been make long trip but that didn't help. That mean I need put new spark plug wires and cap?

(bad O2, or cracked exh manifold)
that is a smart test !!!

that should have been first, tune up first ,then diagnose real problems.
also old ign parts just HATE water.

here is your CEL issues.
see the SES section, and cancel the SES nag light.

Check Engine Lamp stuck ON?

i think your reset switch is directly behind left front speaker.
behind the top right corner of said speak.
just slid it 1 time, not back.
if siding 1 TIME, does not kill the light while running then
surprise you have a real CEL DTC.

so why not NOW pull these DTC errors.

paper clip is the scan tool , LOL
just in front of battery is the DLC.

yes I know that switch but I did that it off but I thought it make light off so I decide turn on.

Well now I will switch it.

I try DTC thingy it didn't flash nothing change.

Well how can I see crack in exhaust? it have new oxygen sensor because old one was foul cause excess black carbon on exhaust tailpipe

Yes brake was drag so bad I am happy that brake capilir or capilir slide pin work fine.

spark plug it look normal but little black but most is tan.

Hey where can I get new clutch cable I think my cable is stretch cause clutch engage in 1 or 2 and R gear. I went under to adjust I knew I can't do without break cable because it so rusty.

I don't see any Suzuki dealer in Detroit. our zip code 48183 if anyone could help me find nearby dealer so I can get new clutch cable.

so at 50k mulitples just switch it off,
if you wonder of light is good ,well it comes on at key on no start.
and then goes out at start and then flashes code 12 if you jumper DLC.
it it does all those things, it sure is not dead.
Well now I will switch it.

that is bad, very bad, NO CODE 12 NO ANYTHING? very bad

if you turely cant get code 12, your ecu is sick

my bad ecu page defines this.
1: keyon no start CEL must glow !
2: start car. lamp goes out, if not , slide the switch SES , if it still stays on then you have real DTC codes.
3: place the jumper and get code 12, or some other codes. some ppl get 5 diff. codes.

if the SES confuses you , then just unplug it on the back of the speedo
it is a useless feature. it will never be your friend and will always cause pain and hassle ,just unpug it. 3 wire conn. behind SPEEDO.

you still dont have the signature or or profile.
is this an 8v or 16v both cars have diff DLC conns.

and both cars have diff, SES slide switch locations.

Well how can I see crack in exhaust? Its not easy at all it has shields.
it have new oxygen sensor because old one was foul cause excess black carbon on exhaust tailpipe (engine , ecu or engine is sick)

i have suz dealer link on my main page , at bottom.
and gm too. see it?

first we need to work out this serious ecu issue.
do you want to unplug that goofy SES wire.
http://carfix.stufftoread.com/sensor...A0-912WDMT.jpg
see black conn. at 1 pm
that is SES ( pain)
the only conn. with 3 pins.
just unpug it. ( i think the lock on it is backwards, spread the lock to unlock it. another trick ,)

now , if you can do this we can walk thru ECU CEL analysis and find what is wrong.

at this point (SES disconnected) we can place the jumper and for the first time you will see real DTc CODES flash out.
and i bet it will say what is wrong with your car.

what do you think, ?

cheers.

all kicks of this era. (rules)
1: all are dumb [OBD1] blink code ECU's, always be sure to get code 12.
if you cant get code 12 , the car will NEVER run right. read that twice.

Just because 12 flashes out, does NOT mean you will get 29mpg. ( and full power)
(some sensors can be OUT OF CALIBRATION , not dead ) < only humans can find this.
Never the ECU.

[only usa FED48 cars have this device]
2: on cars with the Federal Mileage timer, ( i call it SES so it can have a cute name)
this circuit makes troubleshooting very hard.
I call it the PITA circuit too.
After removing it, the ECU will now behave just like all sidekicks world wide.
a blessing this is.
steps:
1
remove this part.
http://carfix.stufftoread.com/CEL/miles1w.jpg

2: key on , no start, note CEL is glowing (ecu is alive and happy and lamp works)
3: start car
insert DLC jumper per my CEL pages.
4: see DTC codes flash out, ( IT MUST FLASH OUT something OR ECU IS DEAD)

THE FSM has you unplug the ECU and do all sorts of Gyrations to get the SES issues resolved. Do not do that, it is a real pain. use my 4 steps above.

this page applies to FED 48 Sidekick and Trackers only.
http://carfix.stufftoread.com/specs/emissions_cert.jpg
Mandatory sticker under hood (look up and down , head under hood)
see tag , see the tag that does not have CALIF words?
that means your car is a FEDERAL CAR. and needs this switch removed.

the SES switch is here
on 8v.
http://carfix.stufftoread.com/CEL/mi...ncel-sw-1w.jpg

on 16v;
it is behind left front speaker (see x) x marks the spot

S---------x
speaker
grill
S---------S

SES = Mileage NAG switch ever 50k miles. service engine soon bull.

amazingly i found better explanations for this stuff in the old 89 manuals.

i hope this helps many. not just poster.

http://carfix.stufftoread.com/CEL/MPI-cancel-switch.gif

much better huh?

this is my fancy unified cancel switch finder.
MPI versas TBI (16v or 8v that is)

find, it , and remove it , is best practice.
