Default 95 Geo tracker problem

Hi, i have 95 Geo Tracker 1.6L, 16 valve, 121130 miles, automatic, 4x4. When i do cold start on my tracker, it initially idles at about 1300 RPM ( 50 degrees F).After 10 minutes RPM drop to 800 RPM and the engine shakes but the temp. don't go up. Under AC idle go to 1000 RPM.
After you have been driving for awhile the temp. go up, but when i stop the RPM rise 200-300 and then it dies. I will start right back up and idle perfect but when i push the gas pedal the engine make a noise like a fuel injector.

thats a hard one.
but the temp. don't go up.
ten minutes and the engine is not hot at 50d f ambient?
you have 2 problems. not 1.
maybe 3

1st any tune ups in the last 100k miles. (30kand 60k are manditory)

can you keep car idling by playing with right foot on gas pedal.

get car good had hot , then grap top rad hose ,if too hot to hold hand on hose then car is good. if it is not hot, 180F is hot. (70 degrees more than a HOT TU
then your thermostat is bad, or wrong one ,ormissing or missing the special gasket used on all kicks with deep socket thermostat pocket.

you could have a leaking injector.

1 tune up
2 stat, check temperature with an IR gun. get hard data.
3: ECU in limp home,

Is CEL lamp on ,keyon no start, then out after starting.
?????

bad idle is a symptom, and most times it has nothing at all to do with idle calibration
or the ISC. (sure the ISC can be sticking)
ISC = Idle speed controller.

Thank you Jerry
Yes when i turn the keyon CEL lamp on, then out after starting.
One more thing, i pull 02 sensor elect. conn. i start the engine but CEL lamp don't go on
95000 miles> new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve
117480 miles> timing belt, water pump, thermostat.
I need buy IR gun and check the thermostat.

just make sure top RAD hose is too hot to touch, 5 seconds and you cant wait to remove hand, is about right.

the O2 , is only checked for the internal heater , coded DTC 13. and not the cell itself.
so after x number of cold starts it will see the heater open and throw code 13.

but it is stuborn, my bench test ECU , has no O2 sensor and never thows code 13
so it may take actual long driving to get it to throw.

i think your TPS needs adjustment for IDLE switch.
or the iSC is sticking.
I assume you can avoid the stall by fast right foot on gas?

cheers.

sure, get engine full hot , see dash guage, when it peaks , fully hot shortly after.
let idle a few minutes.
the top hose will be too hot to handle, lay hand on it, and if hand jumps back
it is hot enough to make ecu happy.

these cars had 2 manifolds.
1 is shallow stat
other is deep
how to purchase parts
click spinning red square.

that is the Factory TSB on this nasty subject.

it is a real pain to see cars running too cold. really bad.
"common kick problem"
and most stores sell the wrong parts are CLUELESS , totally.

Default strange idle, and temperatures?

Great work!
is car tuned up fully. i not dying out is normal.

motor is reaching perfect temperatures.

hot motor is very important.
Yes, bad ISC .
no, bad fuel injection, loss of pump pressure.
or is flooding. (for bad ignition/tune up or grossly high fuel pressure)

I will start right back up and idle perfect but when i push the gas pedal the engine make a noise like a fuel injector.
Noise is not good, most of the time ( exh. rattle , ok forget muffler.)

you need to find the source of that noise.
use ears or stethoscope. (cheap mechanics)

tell me more.
