Default Geo Tracker Engine Rebuild Project

I was given a 90 Tracker with a cracked block. Bought a used engine for 550 and put it in last weekend. Leaks a lot of oil out the front and it smokes real bad. I am thinking about rebuilding the engine. SuzikiGarage.com has this rebuild kit on ebay for 250.00 eBay Motors: 89-95 1.6 L Suzuki Sidekick; Geo Tracker 8V Engine Kit (item 220338542656 end time Apr-02-09 12:37:36 PDT)

Any other recommendations for reliable parts at a good price?

Thanks

i would tear the motor down and have the crank and rods checked my a shop to see what bearings you need to get std or oversized. cuz if you order standard then take everything in to get machined and the crank and/or rods have to be turned you will have to spend more money for new bearings. I just rebuild my 16 valve a few months ago. I ordered the kit of ebay not sure if it was the same selller thou. but good luck. if you have any problems let me know and i will try to help you out. i have rebuilt a few of these motors.

Thanks for the offer of help. I do plan on having the crank journals and cylinders checked out first because I may need oversized piston rings as well. Did you pay about the same price? Did you replace the pistons?

Hello,

Are you in the US?

Check this place,Performance Warehouse

I got a kit a couple months ago for $300.00 included oil pump, and name brand parts. with new pistons I would be another $30.00 but I used my old pistons.

any questions or help let me know.
