no a 91 is 8v ,your is a 16v do not mix dizzys
gear , for one, is diff.
and turns opposite direction!
the cel lamp must glow , at key on.
if NOT, then
that is the problem, IT MUST COME ON , stop and make it so.
the second you see that , think , no power to ecu , ecu dead!!!
you didnt say the code , i would be nice to share that.
but CMP , when the ecu says that is bad, it is 99% sure.
unless you were unplugging things with key on.
you shouldn't.
throwing parts is not a solution, it could be a bad connector at the dizzy
i could be corrosion at ecu , or at fuses.
i do not proclaim to know what it is, there are 20 important connections to the ecu.
see this , this is minimum to make spark
I am sure I have no spark
see "last trick 29-95"
this is the minimum it takes to get spark.
try to concentrate on 2 things
CEL must come on, at key on, if it dont stop and fix that.
what the means, is ECU talking to you" hey mister I FAILED MY DIAGNOSTICS at boot time.
or it only got half its power to its power pins.
note three are 3 fuses !@!!!
note there are 3 power pins, including pin A1. memory.
all must be at 12vdc key on.
and ground must not FloAT.
once cel is working every key on.
and code 12 comes out jumpered (or others)
then
proceed, if not trouble shoot this as this is FIRST ordER FAILURE.
see my cel page
see how to reset codes if you get the memory all full of junk codes.
the cmp error comes out only
with DLC jumper in place and cranking or just after cranking and Not keying off. keep the key on, and look for CMP dtc flashing out.
,Then once all above is good , no code 42 , cmp bad.
then the next order of progress is spark.
as long as 42 sets , there will be no spark.
just like removing the points from a 60 Dodge, no spark.
I assume you are checking for spark from coil and not spark plugs.
if not please do. ( this prevents me from telling you the wrong thing and allows us to progress from begin to end) ,
CMP > combustion is the end.
first walk then run.
let me help you.
Check Engine Lamp stuck ON?
read how CEL works ,
what the light means.
how to clear codes (dome fuse)
1: clear codes
2: crank with jumper placed at DLC next to battery
3: look for 42.
is battery charged to over 12vdc?

So far I have replaced 1 relay, the igniter on the sylinoid, and the distributor cap. If you think its a fuse could you possibly describe it. Thanks for you input muchly appreciated.
