4x4 wont engage

Just today . Stuck on the flat ground . Tea its fresh snow over ice .But this is a 1998 Sidekick Sport 4X4 with good x-ice tires .
The hubs are locked The transgfer case stick moves into position and the light comes on .
But no front drive just spins the back tire and no front drive ???
Where do I start to look .I have had this side kicjk 5 years never any trouble and never stuck on the flat ??

you didnt service them its a 7.5k mile service too.

if the front prop shaft spins, then the locking hub(s) are bad.
easy test.
