Default 92 Geo Tracker 1.6L 8v....stroker kit/turbo motor swap/ upgrades??

My dad has a 92 tracker he uses as a daily driver but the motor is on its last leg now.

Well over 250,000 miles. We are looking for a way to get some more power out of this thing. We live at 6800ft so its an absolute dog, especially going up hills and in the wind.

Im not having much luck finding a stroker kit, turbo kit, turbo motor swap, or anything related.

Anybody have any suggestions for us on what we can do? We are gonna pull the motor this weekend. Still deciding on whether its worth our time rebuilding it or doing a swap etc...

Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've read of ppl doin 2L swaps. Not many modders over here, you'd prolly have better luck over on zukiworld or zuwharrie... some MAD modders over there!! One guy is building a Unimog axled tracker.

Pull the pin and throw it.I think it's a bad idea to hop up an engine with that many miles on it,wouldn't it be safer to rebuild/replace with a fresher mill your going to put a lot of pressure on old stuff.Just my opinion

pull pin.

that's it , in fewest words.
lets see:
cast pistons
spegetti rods (weak city)
hollow cast crank.

want more power drop in (hah) a 1.8L DOCH Sport engine. 1996 Suz, sidekick sport.
there now go up hill , into wind at high altitude.
or just buy a sport, far cheaper and way less work.
