sidekick homemade snorkel kit

I was wondering if anyone here has done a homemade snorkel kit for a sidekick jlx with a 1.6 16 valve. anyone with help would be great

a shop vac ,vacuum hose?
that would work,
or just pumb it out in EMT or PVC sewer pipes.

if it seals ,end to end, what is there to think about.
it is just a pipe.

id keep the aircleaner stock, so you can make adaptions to the case and still filter out seagulls and stuff.

some put a check ball on top like the ball inside a shop vac.
( i got shop vac on the brain. stop me....)
then if water goes too high the ball closes the induction pipe. starving engine.
takes lots of effort to do that.
starving for air is harmless , but hydra-lock is destruction.

dont forget water wings or GPS locater beacons.
