Dome light proiblem

I have a 2002 Tracker.
The dome light won't automatically shutoff when all the doors are closed.
If I want to use the dome light I have to do it manually.
Took it to the dealer and they guessed that it is the Daytime Running Light Module,at a cost of $300.00 for the part. When they pulled the module the dome light went off so they said it was the DRL module, but it doesn't sound like a good diagnosis to me.
No problems with any other lights.
Is there a seperate relay or sensor for the domeight?
Any info appreciated.

have you wiggled all the door switches?
he didnt lie about DRL , possiblity.

all you need to diagnose this problem. (and any volt meter)
