how to check trouble codes

My 97 sidekick 1.6 16v just threw a code. has 92000kms. How do i check the codes on this thing?

It should be OBDII - therefore you'll need a OBDII code reader to pull the codes off of it.
Any Autozone or places like that can help you - or you could buy a scanner yourself for $50 and then charge your friends to scan their cars haha.

yah an charge them $125 just to pull a code , like our locals do.

for $150 is full scan tool , a second option.
