Default Maf is junk so....

For the time being until I can locate a used reasonably priced one I have

Adjusted the throttle cabel to hold the idle up at 1300 rpm warm,
and when starting in the morning to keep the tps happy I
lift from under the gas pedal to start. And when driving in gear it idles
happily at 800 rpm.

Does anyone know any adverse effects on doing this?
As before I was driving with both feet when stopping to keep it running and was a pita with 6-8 inches of snow on ground.
