My '96 tracker 1.6 16v 3spd auto 4wd has Service Engine Soon light coming on. (yes on decell from highway speed, P0400 code, came on today after cleared 1st time. Awaiting decent weather to clean that crazy port/egr) Is there any difference between SES & Check Engine Light/CEL? Or just diff name for same thing? OBD1/OBD2 difference? I assume its gonna run in default mode till this is fixed, yes?
TY in advance, & huge thanks for the EGR info in other posts.

Some models turn on the CEL at fixed mileage intervals to indicate that the vehicle is due for a service, hence SES. There is a switch under the dash that needs to be switched to turn it off. However in your case you obviously have a fault.
