Question 1600 16 vavle interference head?

So I have a 95 16 valve 1600 if the timing belt snaps do valves bend? I thought the truck engine had clearance but car engine's don't, fact or fiction?
thanks.

many 16valve engines, are interference, even some 8valves on other car makers too.
it gets down to high performance engines, mostly,
our 8v is free running

my 1.8L DOHC is that ,but is free running.
so there is no rule.
for get that.

fiction.

if you go to gates rubber and look up all the Tbelt engines, it says right there which are and which are not.
and it looks random ,mostly. after seeing the list.

as you see with notched pistions we can open valves further and breath better, but alas,
the belt or chain must never snap or slip on any 16v suz engine. (1.6L , 1.8L ,2.0 and v6s)

if you need a link to GATES rubber, hollar.

cheers.
