Default Thermastat, 1.8 Sidekick "97

Napa has a part number and it is for OE. But they do not stock it. They have them in stock locally for 1.6. Carquest doesn't even list it.
Is this a Dealer only item?
Any knowledgeable help is apprieciated.

no, it is bad data bases, I called all 3 companies and complained (stat companies)
they all agreed with me.
and corrected the DB. ( some had Esteem missing, others had Sidekick missing, huh?)

you have GM, SUZ , as source . 1 pn. for all zuk, esteem and sidekick, 1.8L (not 02 esteem)
same for:
STANT
BECK
and others.

first find the actual PN then demand that. (see what brand your store carries first)
All this can be done online. ( just go to shucks, Napa or zone , rockauto. or csk.com)
you will then go to store ,say I need Stant # nnnnnnn , and bingo a hit.

but a new stat and a new rubber ring.

the Esteem is listed.
so tell them you have an esteem. 1999 1.8L
USE esteem started in 99. but not world wide.

the store people do not know any more then what is in the DB pages.
nor do they know they have the special gaskets. You must tell them.

the SUZ part , comes complete. btw.

always tread careful with 1.8L kicks as most stores either..
1: cant find anything.
2:sell the wrong parts.

it is best to find brands you like, see the parts and numbers and then decide what you want then find who can get it . Ordering by PN is bliss.
the 1.8L really messes them up. for what ever reason.
