Overdrive problem.....

I just bought a Sidekick 1998 , 1.8 L. engine and automatic transmission
( D-2-L + overd.)
and this Overdrive do not kick in ...but when a put the key in and start the sidekick
the light overdrive/off amber, show for 2 secondes...on goes off all time even if i depress the o/d switch on the shifter. At 100 KM/Hrs i'm at 3000 RPM and the O/D light is off whatever i play with the O/D switch and the RPM do not go down...

Can you help me ...Please.

try running a ground cable from tranny to a clean spot on frame. This fixed my problem.
