Angry removing instrument cluster on 1998 Geo Tracker

Has anyone ever removed an instrument cluster on 98 tracker..I have the bezel off and the 4 retaining screws but this cluster will not move forward but a couple of inches..I can't reach around to unhook speedometer cable or wires..it won't flip over or go from side to side...IT HAS TO COME OUT SOMEHOW.....HELP !!!!

Try disconnecting the speedo cable at the tcase and then pushing it through the bulkhead a few inches.

Even on a 93 its a PIA. I got cut up bad doing it. I was almost tempted to cut it. Just yank it and pull... it will move somehow.

Just did mine last week, It took 2 of us and lots of cuts, you must pull all the slack you can get on the speedo cable. I did not disconnect from t/fer case. took about 3/4 hr. spedo cable just pulls out no twist nut.

Drop the steering column too along with getting slack in the speedo cable, just remove the two bolts holding it up, that will help clear the emergency flasher switch. I also extended the left speaker wires for more slack after removal as they were too short and was holding mine too, some have used the speaker hole to get in there, but it's really not necessary if you drop the steering down.
