escudo gearbox replacement
gday. i have a 1991 5door, 5spd escudo (vitara) with a 16v G16A efi engine. the gearbox grinds its way into first and reverse, especially bad when its hot. i'm picking the gearbox itself is the problem (mileage 230,000km's) and needs replacing.
i am looking at a replacement 5spd manual gearbox but it is off a carbed version of the G16A motor. will it be the same box? and are they easy enough to swap out?
