Default Please help. 1.6L 8V valve problem???

Hey fellas.

I just rebuilt this engine and I had the head remand.

I put a preformance cam in aswell. When you turn the engine over by hand. I noticed this when I was timing it.

Just has the rocker goes over the cam lobe the valve pops shut. its not a smooth movement. Does this for most of the valves.. So I Started it up and it runs valves dont hit the pistons or anything. But the valves suddenly closing make it sound horrible.

Any ideas? maybe I timed it wrong but I dont think so. Im a mechanic by day.

My guess is the valve springs arnt strong enough for the cam shafts profile?

Please help Im moving in a few days and need this sucker fixed.

yeah im yankin out and putting the stocker in for now. Im not impressed with it at all. I tested all my springs and I know there good for a stock cam. I think the lift is just way to high and the duration is to short so it drops off the lobe to fast.

Springs to short to maintain contact pressure with high lift lobe.

Ran that problem when I raced Volvo. Tricky calculations.

The actual problem was the nipple off the camshaft for the cam gear broke off. I drilled it out and put a new one. Good as new. The noise was from the cam slapping around as the rockers pushed it around after the top of the lobe
