kickdown cable

i have a 1990 geo tracker 1.6 8v 3 speed auto 2dr and i was wondering if anybody has had to install a kickdown cable. my main question is do you have to pull the pan off b/c it looks like it goes into the transmisson. also is there any kind of special precedure to install it. if anybody has any advise i would apprecaite it very much thank you.

It's also called a TV (throttle valve) cable. Do a search, I think there's at least 3 previous posts on this. Good luck
