it does on engines with , varialble valve timing gear mechanisms.
if you turn the crank bolt CCW, it comes loose. bad.
if you reverse the battery ,it blows the ECU to kingdome come.
remove tranny and turn flywheel backwards. , who cares.
if you have a 16v there 1 is one other restriction.
do not turn the crank or the cam with the Tbelt is removed.
also there is a correct direction to turn the crank when tensioning the Tbelt.
