crank sensor location in 2000 vitara?

We've been trying to find the crank sensor location in a 2000 Vitara. Engine size 4 cylinder, 2.0. Its a 2001 vitara, but everything inside is really 2000.

We looked in the places the dealer and books said it was, but its not there. We checked by back of the engine, the front, by the pulleys and the sides and can't find anything.

Does anyone have a clue where it might be?

what country you in, there are lots of vitaras.world wide.
if usa canada,the vin clearly states year.
if not:
then this does.
read body tag

sq420
has a cam and cranksensor.
cam is obvious
on ok kicks this is on the bottom front of pan
on yours, it is on bell housing.

the parts list do not show where it goes.
but this engine is used on fwd cars and i see it there , shown clearly as on top fight
part of bell housing and has a rubber grommet for it to fit in.

please tell if true ,? so others can learn this.
