Default Antifreeze/coolant

Should I be using green antifreeze/coolant containing silicates or silicate free orange antifreeze containing organic acid corrosion protectors? Can bad things happen if the two types are mixed? What type of antifreeze is "GM Specification 1825M?"

mixing coolents can actually be fatal to your car, if you mix the wrong stuff you will gell up your system, basically ur radiator will have jellie in it....

and i suggest using good old green coolent, but make sure it there is a different cooler coolent in there that you flush it out.... hope i helped

Yes, absolutely don't ever mix the two types of antifreeze. It will turn to jelly in your cooling system. Make sure what you you currently have in there now and replace it with the same.
