Question Where to get tailgate Retainer Clips cheap

I can get these from the Chevy Dealer for my 98 Chevy Tracker but they are about 90 bucks... And even worse the dang things keep breaking... so far I have bought 3 sets..seems like one breaks then the other one goes shortly after. The next set I get, I have some metal angle pieces I am going to epoxy on the back to give strength... The OEM part is definitely a Mickey Moose piece of crap...

Anyone know where to get cheaper ones than at the dealership...anything you buy from a dealer usually costs double what the thing is worth...

Are you talking about the plastic push pin retainers that hold the trim panel to the tailgate? If so, try Perfect Products Company (their website is currently down) or search for Car-pak (spelling?)fasteners. Good luck.

Or try fastenal.com They have a reasonable selection of car-specific stuff, and a ludicrously huge selection of generic stuff. Only downside is, they tend to sell stuff in bags of a hundred... Anyone need 96 machine screws for the rocker arms in an 8valve?

Or jcwhitney.com also might have something that'll work.

No the metal bar that the rear window slides into on the bottom, hooks into the retainer clips. One on each side and they are part of a large plastic piece that you have to remove the screws to get off. They stick up on the top rail of each side and the window bar clips into them.

That is what I am talking about... The Chevy dealership wants about 80+ bucks for them...(they keep the rear vinyl window from flopping around loose on the bottom...)
