many here claim? that replacing the whole thing end to end with performance
manifold, hiflowcat and cat back , works great , so long as O2 sensor is in proper place.
it gets down to making the ECU/ECU happy.
some can be easy other s hard.
keep i mind the ECU is hard coded.
the ECU Air fuel tables (maps) and spark are all hard coded for a stock VE.
VE = Volumetric efficiency.
in english, that means how well the engine pumps air? at all RPM's and loads.
Intake tract, valves sizes, displacement and exhaust flow all effect this.
modifying the VE , of the engine, risks make the tables , useless.
in the old days, you could just punch it all out, and drill the jets 15% larger and you had a rocket. no more.
to do that today needs a new PROM for the ECU. ( not sold but coming soon)
